The Milawa Gourmet Region within North East Victoria is a food and wine connoisseur's delight. Winning the 2008 Vogue Entertaining Regional Produce Awards, the North East of Victoria has been recognised for their abilities in producing, sourcing and using regional produce, above and beyond any other Australian region. The kitchen team at Restaurant Merlot source from their backyard to create an innovative fresh menu that showcases the produce grown and bred within a 20 kilometer radius. Simple, clean flavours, handmade specialty cheeses. Succulent, plump berries straight from the bush. Pickles, chutneys, mustards, vinegars and jams made from home grown ingredients, it's no wonder Vouge voted this region as the best produce region in Australia, and Restaurant Merlot one of the best value fine dining venues in the region.
