From the narrow alleyways of the Medina in Marrakech to Milawa and Lindenwarrah.

a superb Berber door.... end of the 19thC. Wonderful.... hand painted.... created by

members of the ruling tribe......

several rugs.....a painted chest ....lined entirely with hand painted leather...

detailed in the most intricate way

from a dusty cavern with an improbably large eucalyptus growing outside the door. ......a few dozen lamps

How do we make these beautiful things a reality many thousands of miles away in Milawa?

"No problem"....promised Said our trusty guide

and from MADRID ..... an enormous 19th century earthenware pot... for the entrance...I see it now

closer.... closer to home and the vines .....Aboriginal etchings from Warmun

and Australia again....now I am in Lorne, at artist Katherine Hattam's studio.... select some vibrant paintings....commission a large work...I know just where it will go

fabric swatches ....piles of fabric swatches litter my floor... but now I see each bedroom ...each individually decorated colour chips swirl through my mind.

And here some quite beautiful furniture... unique furniture created for Lindenwarrah by leading Australian designer Don Bennett

reflective ponds, mature plane trees, a garden will flow into the vineyard ..... Geoff Venn and I go through the process we have used for Lancemore Hill .....and Lindenderry.....tried and tested.....finalise the landscape

But the devil is in the detail...the seemingly mundane detail...conference chairs ...the humble conference chair...."test run" by clients...leave nothing to chance....our chefs place orders for pots, pans and platters.

It is all coming together? Can it be two years?.... Two years of travel, sourcing that Berber door, talking....visualise.... refine - soon Lindenwarrah will no longer exist only in my head.

And so it came to pass.....Lindenwarrah the concept becomes a beautiful reality
