An Enviable Collection
Works of art from Australian as well as international painters and sculptors adorn the gardens, rooms and hallways. An eclectic mix of art and antique furnishings. Understated elegance. An appreciation of beautiful things.
Our collection includes works from artists including, Roy Churcher, Michael Cartwright, John Coburn, Peter D Cole, Rod Dudley and Denise Green, among many others.
The Lancemore Collection, numbering several hundred works, has been put together over several years and features work by many of Australia's Greats. It also includes paintings that have been especially commissioned for The Collection.
There are lithographs by Boyd, Nolan, Blackman, Williams, Brack and Rees, paintings by John Peart, Roy Churcher, Mathew Johnson, Mandy Martin and Fred Cress among others.
Tribal rugs from Morocco and Afghanistan, a 17th Century Dutch Corbel, an 18t Century water gilt mirror, 19th Century Italian Candle sticks, an 18th Century Anduze Urn, a grand and rare 16th Century English oak Court Cabinet and a fine English Mahogany claw-footed Table are just some of the 'treasures' that can be found in the Public Rooms at Lindenderry or Lancemore Hill.
The Gardens at Lindenderry are a perfect setting for Sculpture and include works such as The Journey by Michael Cartwright, Primary composition - Modern # 7 by Peter D. Cole and works by local Gordon Studio Glassblowers, Eileen Gordon and Grant Donaldson.
The Collection is regularly added to with Photographs, Watercolours and Ceramics by contemporary artists and reflects our on-going commitment to Australian Artists. Occasional special Exhibitions are held in the Passage Gallery. These may include works from our owners' personal collection.
All these items have been collected for the enjoyment of our guests. Art and the Decorative Arts are something that we are pretty passionate about.
